The experience.
The second semester of school went by so fast. When I signed up for read 104 my counselor picked you as my teacher because she said you were a great teacher. I listened and said okay, well she ended up being right! Because some of the teachers I had last semester I really like and I knew she would put me in a good reading class. I am so glad I took reading 104 with you because you helped me become a better reader, and helped with other things such as annotating, and preparing for tests better. I never used to annotate and now I do because it helps so much with studying for tests. My study skills class also did the same thing, do cornell notes, and annotate and it really did help me. I liked the way you brought the class together as one when we were reading the first book Liar. Also, for the projects how we got in a circle and listened to eachother was a good way of seeing other peoples point of view on things. If I never took this class I would have never met Megan. We have gotten so close throughout the semester, she is also one of my bestfriends. Sorry we do not make it to class most of the time.. I apologize. But all in all you are a great teacher and you I love the way you teach class, and make it fun especially at 8 in the morning. Thank you for making me become a better student, reader and test taker. I had alot of fun and I would definitely recommend your reading 104 class to anyone who has to take it!

Free choice
I think that it is kind of odd that Jack can't see Old Nick, I mean I understand why his mother does not want him to see him but I think that it would be hard not being able to see your father at all. And Jack noticed something on his mothers neck, a mark he asked what it was but she didn't tell him. He thinks that Old Nick grabbed her by the neck it was turning purple so he is getting worried and wondered if Old Nick really did something bad. Jack likes when his mother has those days where shes gone, and she lays in bed all day because he gets to watch T.V. But then again he doesn't. And it is normal for a five year old to have an imagination but he thinks Dora is real and that she is his real friend. His imagination is a little different, like the Jeep being real but really it is just a toy. Everything on TV is fake but Jack thinks it is real. Some other things are like snow, Jack wants it to come inside because he has never been outside to experience what it is like. I also think another thing weird about Jack is that his mother still breast feeds him. I think five years old is just a little too old for him to be breast feeding. I do know a one and a half year old who still breast feeds but I feel that they should be drinking regular milk at this time. It is probably a comfort zone for Jack to still breastfeed.

Jack
Jack is the five year old boy who lives inside a 11 by 11 foot room. He has been there ever since he was born. There is a few reasons why I do not think think this is the way a five year old should be living. First he is only five, and does not even know what the outside world looks like. He has never been anywhere else besides the room. A five year old to me likes to explore, imagination, and learn how to outside world is. But unlike Jack he does not get that option. He is stuck inside a random room everyday. He will not understand what to do if ever went outside the room, because he is so used to being in the room. The thing i do like is that he gets to spend so much time with his mother. They spend every single day together, and she is like his role model. They do everything together and he knows he is secure and safe with his mom. I like that the bond with Jack and his Ma is great because that is the only person Jack has, besides his father Old Nick but he does not get to see him. Ma is such a great person to Jack because she actually teaches him things, and they do what normal people do. Jack exercises, plays, and all the fun stuff a five year old likes doing expect he does those things in a complete different way. And the way he sees things are different than a normal five year old because they are used to being around a lot of people, and other kids. I just think Jack is missing a lot that a normal five year old does like getting to play with more than just his mom, have friends and have imagination.

The truth about forever
I am reading ROOM and also the truth about forever. The first book I started reading is ROOM but I have also started on the truth about forever at the same time. I am a little ahead on ROOM than I am in the truth about forever. But I would recommend ROOM to anyone who doesn't enjoy reading but has to read and they don't really know what. Also, recommend ROOM to anyone who loves to read who has not read this book yet. After the first book Liar, I was not to sure if i would like ROOM but i really like it alot. I think it is different how Jack and his mom live in a 11 by 11 foot room. Jack has been living there his whole life, because he was born there but his mom has been living there for seven years. It suprised me that "Old Nick" was Jacks dad because at first I thought it was another work for Nick Jr, the cartoon. Maybe I was not paying attention but they I figured out that Old Nick was Jacks dad. Old Nick raped Jack's mom and that is how Jack was born. The book is very interesting on all the things Jack and his mom do, all the time spent together. Jack seems happy that he is a daily routine that is very secure, where he can be with hish mom at all times. She has certain things for Jack to do daily such as exercise, sing and read. Jack seems like a lovable little five year old boy. I just started today reading from where I left off on ROOM and I can't wait to finish it and also finish my extra credit book the truth about forever.

ROOM
The title of the book, ROOM. When I got the book ROOM it caught my eye. It captures what the book is going to be about, something dealing with a room. The colors reminded me of a young child. Just by the cover, I figured it was going to be interesting and something I would enjoy reading. I think a book can say alot about the cover. But also, not looking at the colors of the word, just the word ROOM looks boring. Some people might think when they pick up the book "Oh, it's about a room?" "That sounds boring, and put it back down." But the color just gives it more brightness, and something that stands out. As soon as I started reading the book I could not put it down. I like that Jack and his mom have such a great mother son bond. Espically since all he has is his mom, and they are with eachother everyday morning till night. Jack doesn't know what the real world is like because he doesn't go out of the room. I am glad that I got the book because what I have read so far I really enjoy and I can't wait to get more into it. It seems like a very interesting book, and I like that the title is simple with a few colors.

ROOM & Truth About Forever.
I finished the book Liar, and I did not really enjoy reading the book. It just didn't catch my interest, but I am starting to read two new books, ROOM and The Truth About Forever. After finishing up Liar, for the midterm project I did the vision board "I know what I want". I did Micah as the main character, and I pictured her to go to college and start a new life. I felt that she was going to further her education, and someday have a family of her own and live life the way she wanted to live it without having to worry about her parents or anyone else. I pictured her becoming a model. She loves to run, so that would encourage her to be a model because it would keep in her shape.
The book I am starting to read now is ROOM. I already started to read it yesterday and so far I am starting to enjoy the book! I love the way the book is written, in the words of a five year old it is cute. I think that I will really like this book. It seems like a really good book, and the cover makes me want to read it even more. I try not to judge a book by its cover because it could have a very ugly cover but still be a great book, but the cover makes the book look more interesting and it caught my eye. I am reading The truth about forever for extra credit. I also think this book will be a great book, and something i will enjoy reading. It is a relationship book and those are the main types of books I like to read. So hopefully i will like this book as well.

Werewolf.
After reading in class, i was anxious to find out what was going to happen next. When I read that Micah was a werewolf It was shocking. I did not think this was going to happen at all. At times the book can be very frustrating because we never know if she is telling the truth or if she's lieing. She only told the truth a few times, but it just goes back and forth from lies and the truth. So no one knows what to really believe. Then all of a sudden she finds out she is a werewolf. I dont know if i believe she is a werewolf, but then I feel like she is telling the truth because of the reason she was born with excessive hair all over her body. Also, her dad was the one who told her she was a werewolf, and he is a pathological liar, so he could be lieing to her about the whole thing. When he told her I got the feeling she really didn't believe him. He said she knew when it was going to happen. Especially when she thought she was turning into a werewolf but nothing happened, it was a false alarm, so i thought it was all a lie. She took the pills because of her periods, but it was actually for the part of being a werewolf. I just think this book is very different, and hard to understand whether or not Micah is lieing or telling the truth.

Liar
I think the title and picture describes well what the book is going to be about. The title gave everyone the assumption that Micah was a liar. The picture is perfect for the title because she looks as if she is hiding something or guilty. So just from reading the title and seeing the picture you get that she is a liar. Micah lies about anything and everything. Even if it's something that there is no need to lie about, Micah lies anyway. When reading Liar, it does get aggravating because I have no clue if shes lieing or actually telling the truth. But, for the most part it's usually all lies. I also feel that she lies for attention so people will notice her. I wonder if she knows what happened to Zach, or if she is keeping something a secret. I think that Micah is starting to like TayShawn because she thinks he is good looking, and also he invited her to a party after Zach's funeral. TayShawn, Micah and Sarah went to the tunnel where TayShawn and Zach used to go. Micah spilled a little about her and Zach and some other information that she never told anyone else. I think that most of the things she told were the truth just because she hasn't told anyone else but she never tells the truth, if so it is very rare. She says she lies because it is a habit.

School Reading
In general, I never liked reading. Teachers would always assign homework to read a certain book, or read pages one through fifty. Most books that teachers assign to read as a class are boring. The only book I actually did like reading in high school was Tuesdays with Morrie. This book was such a good book, and I really enjoyed reading it. In my other classes, we were assigned to read other books, and I thought they were all boring and after the first chapter I never picked it up again. In college, my reading class last semester we were assigned to read a book and write entrys about the chapter. The book I chose was my Sister's Keeper. My Sister's Keeper was also a very good book. Out of the last few years, I have only read a few books because I read only if I have to. To me, I just think reading is very boring and it does not interest me. If i am told to read a book that does not look interesting I won't read it, I'll just skim through pages. Right now, I'm in a study skills class and we have to pick a book, read for fifteen minutes and write for five minutes. I'm reading Liar and it's kind of a slower pace so I can comprehend what I'm reading. Also, it helps me keep up on this class as well. I'm not sure if I like Liar or not yet. I feel pressure because I know I have to read a certain amount of pages within a few days.

Dear John
I read the book Dear John by Nicholas Sparks. I think the title of the book relates to a love story, or relationship book. The picture on the front cover looks like two people John and Savannah are in love, sitting on the beach. It is about the two falling in love in just two weeks. Their both sitting on the beach because everyday John and Savannah would go to the beach. They would either surf, or just lay their at watch the sunset go down. In Those two weeks were the best days of each others life, the only thing that the both of them didn't want to happen was John going back to Germany. After a few days going by Savannah knew it was going to be hard to not see John everyday. She didn't think it was so hard to say good bye to someone. John, wishes he wasn't in the army because he would rather be living each and every day with Savannah.
John in highschool was the type of boy who did not care about anything besides partying and going out with friends. The group of boys he hung out with were the exact same way that is why John is this way. He barely passed highschool with low grades. I would consider John laid back. Once John went into the army, everything changed. He wasn't the boy he used to be in highschool. He respected everyone around him and made himself a better person.
Savannah is the type of girl who is always working hard for what she wants. She is very open, and outgoing. In highschool, she was the valedictorian. Savannah went off to college to figure out what she wanted to be in the future. She wanted to teach the disabled kids to relate to horses. Savannah is worthy of critism, if she is told something she will respect what is being said and try something new.
Two weeks, that's all it took for me to fall in love with you. This sentence is my favorite sentence because it sums up alot of the book. John never thought he would meet a girl and fall in love within the two weeks he was with her. He instantly knew that Savannah was the girl of his dreams. She was the one who he wanted to marry, spend the rest of his life with. He wanted to come home to Savannah at the end of every day. Savannah was the exact same way. She said he made her the happiest girl and everyday with him felt just right. John was important to her, and she wanted him to know that. The only thing Savannah didn't like was John leaving for the Army. It was the worse part for her. They wrote letters, talked on the phone for hours. But, it wasn't the same as seeing eachother in person. She cried everyday hoping he would come back one day. Savannah could barely do anything without thinking about John. I feel that sentence made the whole book feel like it was true love.

Free Choice
I read My Sister's keeper last semester for Reading 103. I do not like to read, as I've told you in my book chat. This book actually turned out to be a wonderful book. My sister's keeper was very touching, and interesting to learn about Leukemia and how Kate was diagnosed with Leukemia when she was two years old. The book affected me because not after a few months later in December, my 3 1/2 year old niece Hailey was diagnosed with Leukemia as well. The emotions I had while reading this were sad and hopeful. It was sad to read about a two year old having Leukemia, and then to find out my three year old niece had Leukemia. Some big questions in My Sister's Keeper were is Kate going to live? Leukemia is very common in children. About 90 percent of children survive, but there's still a ten percent chance of a child not living. Sara and Brian were scared and worried Kate wouldn't live much longer. Dr. Chance, oncologist said Kate would need a bone marrow transplant. Another big question was if they would be able to find a bone marrow match for Kate. Kate had a younger brother, Jesse. Jesse wasn't a match for Kate, so Sara and Brian had no other choice but to try and have another child so it would be a perfect match for Kate. A few years later, they had a daughter, Anna. She was the right genetic match for Kate. Anna had to go through all the procedures as Kate did. I learned a lot from the book, especially with having a niece who has Leukemia. The book shows how to always be there for one another. Supporting every sick child fighting cancer is amazing. Love the children who are fighting cancer because they go through so much just in one day. To put their shoes on one day to feel the pain they have to go through just to survive. I am very glad i read this book because at first it didn't relate to me and now it does. This book was very easy to read. I loved the book because it shows a lot of caring, and love for a child. Especially, having a strong bond that sisters have, like Anna and Kate in the book of My Sister's Keeper.
